I was talking to a client recently about their objectives for blogging. Their sole objective was for SEO to increase Google traffic & attract a new audience. Whilst this is a goal of many blogs, it made me realise that they were under-utilising their blog content hugely.

Blogs have a multitude of purposes & can be re-purposed to get more value from them.

Let's look at blogging goals:

4) Answer a question / share knowledge

5) Contribute to an existing conversation

Repurposing blogs to get more value:

1) Use for e-newsletters

2) Break down into numerous Social Media Posts

3) Turn into different formats (video, podcast etc)

4) Write follow ups, new facts, related news or summaries that link back to the original post.

5) Republish as a LinkedIn article

6) Share with others as a 'guest post' on their blog

7) Create a checklist

8) Turn into a graphic / infographic

9) Create a slideshow and post on SlideShare & social channels

10) Turn into an e-guide / pdf

So, next time you write a blog, think about the objectives and how you can repurpose it to get maximum value.
